Religion vs Science¶
Two ways of seeing
Intro¶
- St. Thomas Aquinas often wrote, “If something is true, no matter who said it, it is always from the Holy Spirit.” Take only is true for you. This is my exploration not yours.
- Either, or vs both, and - it should not between faith or science, it should be a combination of faith AND science.
- The fighting of two world views with the same quest, knowing.
- We find God in science.
Section 1: Creationism¶
- What about Genesis 1?
- Biblical origins
- What is the point of scripture.
- Historical? Scientific? Mythological?
- Religion doesn't try to explain the world, but tries to help us understand our place/purpose/relationship in it and with it.
- Religion is NOT science
Section 2: Evolution¶
- Intelligence a laptop - the highest concentration of human effort and creativity
- Intelligence in a human body - infinitely more complex.
- Evolution of religion. Did we make God? Sapiens
- Evolution - another name for direction?

Section 3: Two sides of one coin¶
- The more you study science, the more you see God.
- Science is a second bible.
- Theology is part of philosophy.
- Science is part of philosophy.
- They are born from the same parents.
- Philosophy as reason is a gift of grace from God.
