Always work deeply
always work deeply¶
How we live our days is how we live our life. What we do this hour and that one is what we are doing. What do we want the content of our lives to be? This is exactly what Cal Newport speaks about in his book Deep Work.
To always work deeply means: - to not waste your life - to not fear effort - to do the thing that needs doing - to find meaning in what you are doing
Working hard has less to do with the exertion of will and more to do with finding purpose for your time. Once you have found purpose, working hard becomes natural, as you want to work on what brings you meaning. Procrastination is the norm for most people as most people do not have purpose. They have not reflected and spent time on discovering what is meaningful in their lives and thus the content of their day is mostly distraction.
This discovery of purpose must then always come as a precursor to working hard. We can then equate "always working hard" with "living on purpose with effort".
