Space (No rush) - Allow Dom to work parttime - Have time/space to exercise everyday - Be with Alex every afternoon/evening - Have time/space mentally each day 2. Values - Work on difficult problems - Creative freedom - Creation/development - Problem solving - Analysis/Data 3. Goals (+- 1 year) - Buy apartment with solar - Run a marathon - Own a business - Visit Korea
IDEAL DAY: Teach 2/3 classes, develop software, consult, be home by 4pm
2. Eliminate¶
Time wasters: 1. Auto sort emails and answer priority emails first. 2. Batch help desk emails into 2 meetings a week or adhoc at a certain limit.
Empowerment failures: 1. GSD doesn't have the knowledge it needs to perform the tasks it needs to do. 2. Setup clear reporting channels - Schools come to you because you reply. - Strengthen the role of the iSAMS leads as the primary contact/conduit. - Channel others through their leads with automated replies. - All reporting done through GSD, always CC me. 3. Leads don't have the knowledge to do what they need to do. - Documentation - Processes - Clearly defined roles and tasks - iSAMS documentation
